Cherwell School of Dancing, was established in 1980 and is run by Julie Crofts (A.B, A.S, I.D.T.A) providing lessons in Ballet from the age of 3 upwards and Tap and Contemporary Modern Jazz from the age of 5. The Thursday Group: Formerly Tai Chi, offers classes that provide numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being. With an holistic approach to health and wellness, Tai Chi addresses both physical and mental aspects of well-being through its gentle, mindful practice. The Thursday Group meet each week at 10.45am
Join the Band , run by Jemma Hibberd and Rosie Samaras from the band @girlshouse_duois is an exceptionally unique and modern take on the traditional Baby & Preschool Music & Dance Class, for babies and children aged 8 weeks to 4 years. Your preschoolers can JOIN THE BAND playing their own instruments including Shakers, Tambourines, Rhythm Sticks and more! Zumba, run by Becky Barton, involves rhythmic aerobic exercises set to upbeat music. Follow the instructor's lead and perform a series of dance moves and choreographies designed to work various muscle groups, improve cardiovascular health, and enhance coordination and flexibility. The emphasis is on enjoying the music and having fun while getting a full-body workout. You can join in the fun each week on Wednesdays at 9.15 am, no need to book, just bring plenty of water!
Ma-Mites, Run by Louise Young, are a friendly group for parents and carers of babies and toddlers up to school age run by mums in the village. Ma-Mites are a non profit organisation and rely on people coming through the door and fundraising to keep them going. Why not come along, Ma-Mites meet each Tuesday at 9.15am. The Lynden Players was formed in 1975 and have been putting on performances at the village hall for 49 years. A friendly and hard working community drama society they have regular shows in December and May of each year. Watch this space for news about 50th Anniversary performance plans in 2025!!
Middleton Cheney WI celebrated its 90th birthday back in in March 2019. The WI has a diverse membership base and welcome women of all ages, backgrounds, and interests and play a significant role in empowering women, promoting education and community engagement and advocating for positive social change. The Middleton Cheney WI are friendly group who have some great guest speakers and they would love to welcome new members . Why not join them, they meet at the Village Hall at 7.30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month except during August.
Age Concern is an active group for the older residents of Middleton Cheney meeting in the village hall since the 1950s. Their aim is to provide a place for people to come together and enjoy themselves .The group meets on a monthly basis - the first Wednesday of the month between 2pm and 4pm.
Short Mat Bowls is a fun and social activity! Joining the bowls group at the village hall is a great opportunity to meet new people, stay active, and enjoy a friendly game. Community activities like this are where people can come together, have some fun, and stay connected. The Short Mat Bowls team meet each Tuesday from 1pm until 3.30pm
